|WELCOME TO GREYHOUND PETS OF AMERICA- SPRINGFIELD, MO!|
Greyhound Pets of America-Springfield, MO is a volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing information about and promoting adoption of retired racing greyhounds. We also promote cooperation with other adoption programs nationwide to further the placement of greyhounds as pets into responsible loving homes.
Alane Shultz is the founder of the local GPA chapter and has had retired racing greyhounds as pets for 30 years. She has facilitated greyhound adoptions since 1992.
Greyhounds are clean, quiet and have no hereditary health problems. Their exercise requirements are surprisingly low - they prefer to curl up and have you pet them! Loving and loyal, your greyhound is your fast friend for life!

WHAT DO RETIRED GREYHOUNDS DO?
Recently adopted 10-year-old Sammy is enjoying the lap of luxury in her new forever home. "I'm not dead," she says, "I'm just resting!"
2016 SPRINGFIELD HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION HOME SHOW WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for our Greyhounds at the Home Show. GPAMO received donations in the amount of $707.82! Congrats to Jeff O. and Renee C. for making a donation – they were the winners of the restaurant cards.
Barrett is friendly and well behaved. He likes his crate, likes his house and yard and likes to stay home. He would be fine with a female dog or would be a good only dog. He's an easy keeper and doesn't require a lot of entertaining.

GPAMO PARTNERS WITH WOOFTRAX: WALK FOR A DOG
Walk for a Dog is a smartphone application that supports GPAMO every time you walk your dog. WoofTrax, through the Walk for a Dog mobile app, creates fundraising opportunities for animal organizations, shelters and rescues while encouraging dogs and their humans to exercise together regularly.
After you download the app onto your smartphone, you can register and choose Greyhound Pets of America-Springfield from a list of beneficiaries. Take the phone with you when you walk your dog(s). Simply press the “Start Walking for …” button and the app will keep track of your walk. When your walk is stopped it is credited to GPAMO. The more people walking, the more we can gain, so please spread the word.
100% of proceeds go to GPAMO!
"Steve & I wanted to see if we could raise a little bit of money for the greyhounds and GPAMO..." – Heidi Carlsen Rogers
Local artist Heidi Carlsen Rogers, one of our adopters in Bella Vista, Arkansas, has made a unique opportunity available for the benefit of GPAMO. Heidi writes, "Steve & I wanted to see if we could raise a little bit of money for the greyhounds and GPAMO for the holidays. We partnered on an art project and came up with shooting some black and white art prints called Studio Dogs. They are posted on my Etsy art site. Hoping our greyhound models can help their hound friends! We will donate 100% of proceeds to GPAMO."
Wouldn't these make wonderful gifts?
